Climate doomsayers caught out

It only took a week, but even Faifax has begun to report it. The thing that I don't understand is that this should be great news for the world, with catastrophe perhaps not as inevitable as we've been told to believe.

East Anglia CRU Hacked

While it is not likely to be reported in the MSM, anyone with any interest in the "consensus" or "silence is settled" argument for AGW must be made aware of this:

What happened to global warming?

Another possible turning point in the climate change debate. The BBC over the last decade has, as much as any media organisation in the world, pushed the AGW argument that man made emissions are to blame for climate change. But now this, the first (and hopefully not the last) article that acknowledges that temperatures have in fact dropped over the last decade, that we may in fact be about to enter a 30 year cooling period, and most importantly, that CO2 emissions might not be the major cause after all.

As the AGW case has been fuelled predominately by the media, I see this as hope that the debate that "never was" is about to begin!

More anti-AGW reading...

I will persist in posting anti AGW articles as I believe the more people read, the more skeptical people will become, and the more they will endeavour to form their own opinions as opposed to the current trend of simply accepting the misleading premonitions of those with ulterior motives.

Eventually I hope people will realise that CO2 reduction has nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with Big Green and the finance industry.

Everyone's ABC? Only if you lean left

From my very first post on this site, I have made it known that it bothers me how left wing the Australian Broadcasting Network is. Whether it be local content, or documentaries first broadcast overseas, seldom do I think reports are balanced, never do I think they present a conservative opinion.

And so it was rather refreshing to read former Treasurer Peter Costello, now free to comment as he pleases, provide his insights into the bias nature of our ABC.

Reverend Tim Costello slams Nats over climate change

What drugs is the Reverend Tim Costello on? How can he claim 300,000 are dying as a result of climate change each year? And where, praise your god Reverend, is the proof that man made CO2 is the cause of such catastrophic events? And why does The Age continue to publish these outlandish stories?

If you want an epiphany Reverend, have a read of this:

Senator Barnaby Joyce on the ETS

In Barnaby's words:

"This is just another tax. It is a tax that is going to come to you from the power points. Every electrical appliance in your house will have a tax on it. The ironing will be taxed, the vacuuming will be taxed, watching footy on a Sunday will be taxed, turning the lights on will be taxed. Who will they be taxing, working families. Then you’ll want to go shopping and what will happen? All your food will be taxed. If you are sick of it and want go on a plane and go away for the weekend, it’s on aviation fuel, you’ll be taxed. Everything in this new world under Kevin Rudd is taxed. Kevin in the shopping trolley, Kevin at the ironing board, Kevin in the kitchen, Kevin on the plane, too much Kevin makes me feel very sick.

And what is he going to do this for? Because Kevin is going to change the climate. It is amazing, he is going to make that out there different. He told us so, it must be true. The reality is the ETS is not going to change the climate one iota. Not one thing will change in the climate because of this new tax. Metaphorically speaking, the difference Australia will make is the equivalent of a the breadth of a hair on the length of about a one kilometre bridge.

It is so infinitesimally small. So ridiculous, so pointless, yet we are putting our economy out to dry."

flag@whitehouse.gov

I can not believe this is happening and the main stream media are barely raising an eyebrow!

This is on the Whitehouse website:

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

The Obama administration is asking Americans to spy on and dob in anyone that disagrees or 'spreads misinformation' about the Presidents health reform program. They are being asked to send an email to the government so they can keep a track of the dissent. WTF?? No wonder people are producing t-shirts reading "Welcome to the USSA".

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) describe it is as a very troubling attempt to stifle free speech:

'Consensus' Takes Another Hit!

With every passing day, the fraud that is AGW is questioned more and more, not just by bloggers like myself, but by some of the very scientists whose research laid the foundation for the initial UN IPCC reports.

Don't be afraid to question the likes of Gore, Stern and Flannery as their alarmist predictions prove unfounded while their personal wealth from this scam continues to grow!

A fair question being asked is have we simply reached the point where science based on data is treated as irrelevant by those who model the future in service of an agenda? I hope not. It is not skeptics, deniers or contrarians (the latest vindictive term used by alarmists) who's credibility needs to be questioned, it is the IPCC!

The real reason I’ll fight in the Senate on climate change

Senator Steve Fielding is certainly my hero for the day. Here is his reasoning as to why he'll be opposing the ETS in the senate. I note that like myself, he does not dispute climate change occurring, he simply questions whether CO2 is the major driver and whether the ETS will be of any practical benefit to the environment. Good luck!

www.stevefielding.com.au/blog/comments/the_real_reason_ill_fight_in_the_senate_on_climate_change/

Rudd brings a hint of Chinese politics to OZ

Family First Senator Steve Fielding says the Rudd Government’s gag on Victorian school principals is akin to communism.

“Since when was Australia a communist state?” Senator Fielding said.

"The Prime Minister and his team of spin doctors have gone too far this time. When you start to silence people from speaking out against the government, it goes against the right to free speech. The Prime Minister is using John Brumby as his puppet and trying desperately to control who says what in the Victorian education system. Mr Rudd is holding schools to ransom, knowing full well each school cannot afford to risk tens of thousands of dollars of Government funding if it speaks out against the Federal Government’s computers-in-schools program. The Federal Government agreement stipulates funding for computers will only be provided once the school has signed agreements saying they will not do or say anything to dissent the project. This project was another one of Mr Rudd’s election promises but I don’t remember the Prime Minister saying our children’s future was contingent on the Federal Government bullying our schools into silence.”

Couldn't agree more Steve! Even the ABC is questioning this policy:

Gore can't handle the truth!

For the last few days, independent Senator Steve Fielding has been trying to arrange a meeting with the Green Pope Al Gore, in order to get an explanation as to why temperatures have not risen in the last fifteen years despite huge increases in CO2 emissions. Not surprisingly, Al has refused to meet the Senator and chosen to ignore his questions. How can anyone still take this man seriously?

Saving us from his own policies!

It's hard to believe, but PM Kevin Rudd is now on a mission to save the world from the spending spree he claims we had to have. He even proposes that getting out of this newly created debt could be more difficult that managing the initial financial crisis that prompted the absurd spending in the first place. No shit Sherlock. The cost of his actions will in fact be far more than the cost of inaction.

Further to this, the PM's return to the fiscal conservative he initially claimed to be.

Why is it so difficult for the government to provide straight forward, science based answers to the three simple questions presented to them by Senator Fielding on climate change? I am a climate change sceptic (or denier to those who judge my opinion more harshly), and the fact that Penny Wong remains silent only confirms my belief that AGW is the greatest scam in the history of the world.

More on Iran and a question for Obama

I do not believe it is appropriate for Barrack Obama to directly criticize the democratic process or result of the Iranian elections. I do however wonder why he has failed to strongly criticize the Iranian governments and its religious backer's brutal suppression of Iranians voicing their opposition to the vote, as well as the governments blocking of communications to the outside world.

Obama talks of a new diplomacy, he talks of a new mutual respect, he talks of a new relationship with the Muslim world. But at what cost? At a time when the suppression of free speech is so blatant, his silence must be soul destroying to those who want to believe in his "change". An opportunity lost, and I want to know why?

A very balanced and informative article originally published in the Jordan Times that covers the first meeting between Obama and newly elected Israeli Pri Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. I don't foresee much progress here myself - at least not publicly.

Twelve year-old Iranian candidate suggests Israel be moved to Hawaii

The Iranian elections are due to be held next month, providing a much anticipated opportunity for the Iranian people to demonstrate whether or not they support the increasingly hostile rhetoric of the current leader, President Ahmadinejad. While all new candidates are screened for "obedience" to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (only four have been approved), one unsuccessful candidate is twelve year old Kourosh Mozouni. This young man is someone I imagine we’ll here much more about in the years to come. Not sure how he’ll go moving the Israelis to Hawaii though!

300 billion reasons for concern

So now it's official. Even though the PM was asked three times to say it, and still couldn't, forecast debt is set to peak at $300 billion. Another article from a professor of geology, Jan Veizer, that contradicts much of the hype of AGW and presents an alternative, science based proposition. This is a very interesting piece of journalism from a self confessed climate change believer. It discusses a recently released book by Australia's leading geologist, Dr. Ian Plimer, titled Heaven and Earth, that presents counter arguments to the AGW case. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25260080-7583,00.html by Henry Ergas

Why doesn't anyone listen to the real climate change experts?

I am a climate change skeptic, or to use the current intellectually fashionable term, I am a climate change denier. I do not dispute the fact that climate changes - it has for millions of years and will continue to change in the future. What I am skeptical about is the much hyped yet scientifically unproven proposition that it is predominantly man made, AGW (anthropological global warming), and the link between carbon emissions and climate change.
While the media and governments are both using this issue for their own agendas (much like Al Gore and Tim Flannery), I will continue to push an alternative view, and that is that the debate is not over and that the science is far from settled.
With Copenhagen set to host the next international forum on climate change in December this year, and with a post Kyoto agreement the aim, many alarmists are upping the ante on climate change by making more and more exaggerated claims about the affects of AGW and the urgent need to act. Sea level rises, Arctic melt downs, hurricanes, droughts - none of which they can prove - all of which are based on IPCC modelling and which are being reported as indisputable facts in the complicit main stream media. I say don't believe the hype. These models have been around for more than ten years now, and none of the predictions they made ten years ago have proven to be accurate today. Even the IPCC has recently admitted that some of their models are wrong.
We need to keep an open mind and let the debate continue before we tax and spend trillions of dollars on solutions that do little or nothing to help the environment.
And we should start listening to the real climate change experts!
